Talk to the Person Who Actually Built This Thing
NameWheel is a one person operation. No support team, no ticket queue, no "your call is important to us" nonsense. You email me, I read it, I reply. That simple.
The Fastest Way to Reach Me
My name is Abd Shanti. I built NameWheel because every other name picker on the internet was annoying me. Now I maintain it, fix bugs when they pop up, and add features when people ask for them.
If you want to tell me something, ask something, or yell at me about something, here you go:
Real inbox. Real person reading it. Usually within 24 hours.
What Can I Help With?
Bug Reports
Something broke? Tell me what happened, what browser you were using, and throw in a screenshot if you can. I fix bugs fast because they bother me more than they bother you. Probably.
Feature Requests
Got an idea that would make the wheel better? Some of the best stuff in NameWheel came from user emails. Teams Mode, Eliminate Mode, CSV import. All started as someone saying "hey, what if you added..."
Partnerships
Run a school, a streaming community, or an event platform? Want to integrate or co-promote? I'm open to conversations. Not the sleazy affiliate kind. The kind where both sides actually benefit.
Press and Media
Writing an article about random selection tools, classroom tech, or spinning wheels in general? Happy to chat, give quotes, or provide whatever info you need. I'm surprisingly normal in interviews.
What to Expect
Since I'm one person and not a corporation with a customer service department in four time zones, here's how this works:
- ✓ I read every email personally. Not a bot, not an intern, not a filter.
- ✓ Most replies come within 24 to 48 hours. Sometimes faster if I happen to be staring at my inbox.
- ✓ Bug reports get prioritized. If something is genuinely broken, I usually fix it the same day.
- ✓ Feature requests go on a list. I can't build everything, but I read every single suggestion and the good ones end up in the next update.
- ✓ If you just want to say something nice, those emails literally make my week. Not even exaggerating.
Before You Send That Email
Quick answers to things people email about most. Might save you the wait:
How do I use NameWheel as a yes or no wheel?
Open namewheel.org, clear the default names, type "Yes" on one line and "No" on the next, hit spin. Or just go to the yes no wheel page where it's already set up for you.
Can I embed the wheel on my own website?
Yes. Go to namewheel.org/embed and grab the iframe code. Copy, paste into your HTML, done. Free forever, no restrictions.
Does NameWheel store my names or data?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Names never leave your device. When you close the tab, they're gone. There's no server, no database, no cloud sync. Zero data collection. You can verify this yourself in your browser's DevTools network tab.
The wheel isn't working on my device. What do I do?
Try refreshing the page with Ctrl+Shift+R (or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to clear the cache. If it still doesn't work, email me with your device type, browser name, and what's happening. A screenshot helps a lot.
Is NameWheel really free? What's the catch?
The catch is there is no catch. I built this as a side project, it costs me almost nothing to run (static site, no servers processing data), and I genuinely just wanted a wheel spinner that didn't suck. So I made one and put it on the internet.
Can I use NameWheel for a live event or on a stream?
Absolutely. Teachers project it in classrooms, streamers use it as an OBS browser source, and event hosts run it at conferences. It's designed for exactly that. Check out the streamer guide or the classroom page for tips.
Still Need to Reach Out?
Don't overthink it. Short emails are fine. Long emails are fine too. I've gotten emails that were literally just "the wheel is cool, thanks" and honestly those are my favorite.
